Kathryn H. Martin

Kathryn is a Winston-Salem, North Carolina native and practices in Grimes Teich Anderson LLP’s South Carolina offices. She heads the Family Law Division of Grimes Teich Anderson and handles all aspects of South Carolina domestic matters. She earned a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication- Electronic Sequence and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Prior to and during law school in North Carolina, Kathryn served as a guardian ad litem in high-conflict custody and domestic violence cases.

Kathryn attended law school at Campbell University, Norman A. Wiggins School of Law in North Carolina, where she received her Juris Doctorate Degree. While at Campbell, she was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, participated in the Kilpatrick-Stockton Mock Trial Competition, and participated in Campbell’s Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining Grimes Teich Anderson, LLP to open its Family Law Division, Kathryn was a Litigation Managing Attorney with a large, nationwide domestic litigation firm, opening its first South Carolina office in 2015. Kathryn gained extensive litigation and courtroom experience in her practice. She joined Grimes Teich Anderson, LLP as a partner in 2025 to establish the firm’s first domestic litigation division.

Kathryn’s practice is focused on all aspects of South Carolina Family law matters, including divorce, separate support and maintenance actions, custody and visitation issues, alimony cases, equitable division of marital assets, marital agreements, and other domestic matters. She handles cases throughout the Upstate of South Carolina and is based in the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina office.

Kathryn is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Greenville County Bar Association. She has been recognized as 2020 and 2024 Legal Elite in the Family Law category by the Greenville Business Magazine. Only attorneys may vote on the nomination of their peers, and those receiving the top votes are highlighted by the magazine. Kathryn is included on the 2022 South Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Stars® list for Family Law. Super Lawyers is an annual rating of outstanding lawyers from across the nation. Peer nominations and evaluations, along with 3-party independent research, are used in the selection process. To be eligible for Rising Stars, an attorney must be 40 years old or younger or have been in practice for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of attorneys are selected for Rising Stars.

Kathryn and her husband, Jeff, live in Greenville with their three children. They are members of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in downtown Greenville.
